get a pet

You don’t feed the pets in your quest, the first three you train.
Your first real pet – to feed: finish the quest by going to the capitol city (where you are sent by the small town trainer – READ the quest).
In the city, right click a guard, ask for the hunter trainer. YOu’ll get a red flag on your map – click M to see it.
That guy finishes your quest.
To feed pet, click on the button – the “dog bone” icon button – then click on appropriate food in your inventory. That’s how I do it. Other ways work too, experiment.
One of your new hunter/pet buttons is on the wrong page – it’s on the GENERAL or first page – not w/ the other pet/beast stuff.
Go to PETOPIA at ot find out what pets eat.
Boars eat almost anything and are very easy to feed.
I highly recommend that you start with a boar. They get CHARGE, which is very nice. They are easy to feed. They are tough, and they hold agro very well (the target stays on them so you can shoot – that is what you do as a hunter).
If you train a pet that comes w/ no skills (always train it GROWL first, this is free – you may need to fight w/ a pet a while to get it’s LOYALTY up – this ups its of tps or trianing points, so you can teach it BITE or CLAW) …
…so if you get a pet w/ no skills, you need to put it in stables (a outside any INN – in xroads in barrens he is behind inn, most are to the right of the door out front).
You buy a slot for 10s or so. In he goes. He’s safe.
Now look up in petopia what animal has the skill you want to learn. Go find one and tame it. Feed it and hunt w/ it w/ that skill ON. You are in essence from that animal, that comes naturlly w/ that skill.
You then get a message – after 20 seconds or 10 minutes, it just depends, in little yellow words in your chat box, that you have learned this skill.
Let the training pet go (abandon) and get main pet from the stables. Teach it the new skill.

The first part they will have you tame 3 zone-specific creatures and then you will be taught how to tame your own permanent pet. However, remember that you need to go to the nearest capital city for the second part to learn how to train and feed your pet. You will want to do that ASAP. If you tame a pet but can’t feed it, it will run away pretty quickly.-No gods, no masters.

Once you complete those, you’ll be able to tame beasts for pet use.
