I now have 8 toons leveled to 40 plus (most 70) and I never worry about gear. I take whatever I get for quest rewards and make do with that. The only exception is weapons for rogues, warriors & enhance shammys. For those classes, upgrading your weapons can make a massive difference to DPS. For those I just visit the AH and pay 2-3g for cheap green weapons with nice stats and decent DPS. For the druid your weapon is like any other piece of armor – just another vehicle for stats – the weapon DPS is irrelevant.
Any item you do get will be replaced fairly quickly anyway, especially when you hit Outland at level 58-60 and the gear improves amazingly.
Having said that, here are a few options you could look into if you are still keen :-
The Pacifier From a Rare spawn in Alterac Mountains
Manual Crowd Pummeler From a boss in Gnomeregan
Ironshod Bludgeon From a boss in Uldaman
-RareBeast: What are you trying to tell me? That I can out-tank & out-DPS them all?
Druid Trainer: No RareBeast. I’m trying to tell you that when you have read the Feral Druid Numbers thread, you won’t have to.

Rareone(80 Hunter), Rarebull(80 Mage), Raress(80 Priest), Raredeath(80 Death Knight), Raredude(80 Shaman)
Rarelord(80 Paladin), Rarebones(80 Rogue), Rarelock(80 Warlock), Rarebob(80 Warrior)There aren’t any gear lists because any gear you do get will be replaced soon enough anyway.
If your really worried about gear run SM and any other instance around your level, you should find something.
Also check the WoW Armoury page and click “Find an upgrade”
Take a look at one you like then copy and paste the name into the item search here on Allakhazam to see where it comes from.
Other than that see you at 70.-The One and Only Poldaran wrote:If being prepared is good enough for Batman, it’s good enough for me.So I’m leveling with feral, and my biggest problem so far is getting decent gear. I’ve looked at the stickies, but all of the gear lists are for 60+. Anyone know of a list or guide that I can look at that’ll show me where to get some decent upgrades?

The above poster pretty much hit it perfectly, except for living spirit. If you’re going to be in pvp, I’m going to assume you’ll be using PvP gear, which has no spirit. So, you should follow Jeffoncom’s build, except perhaps moving the three points in living spirit into Natural Perfection or Natural Shapeshifter. A question…but no question mark?! :D
Anyway, onto your topic. I’d say as long as you are pretty well geared, you’d be able to heal 5-mans in your pvp spec. The resto tree is full of either really crappy or really good talents. Anything that helps your Healing Touch spell can be ignored. If you’re using HT that much that you’d benefit greatly from the talent, it’s likely that you have no idea how to heal as a resto druid ;) . The biggest difference between pvp and raid specs are that pvp has no ToL form, which is big for raids/5-mans. Don’t expect to get serious about 5-mans with a straight pvp spec though. Most people doing instances will expect you to have tree form.
Edit: Oops. I didn’t really answer your question. Here, try this:
Edited, Oct 9th 2008 12:56am by jeffoncom-Why is it a penny for your thoughts, but you have to put your two cents in? Somebody’s making a penny here.I looked and I couldn’t find an answer. Sorry I have to make a new post. My question is.
I just made the decision to switch from Feral to Healing. I need to know a good healing spec. I’ll mostly be doing PVP. Note. I repeat. I will mostly be doing PVP. No raiding. I will respec feral for raiding and tank. I just need to know a good solid healing build for PVP, but it would be nice if it worked for 5mans also. Thanks in advance

As someone not 80 but looking to the future…

Lifebloom, Innervate, Swiftmend imo.
Extending Lifebloom duration is hawt, makes you more capable of either getting it onto multiple targets or being able to patch up other people while its ticking. I prefer it over the little bonus add on Rejuv (this isn’t habitually the first thing I reach for when someone is low health anyway, I’d rather slap em with a Regrowth to get them propped up and let the hot tick them back to health) and if I have a crapton of spells rolling on a tank and need a spot heal, I figure I’ll Nourish rather than wasting Regrowth efficiency.
Innervate glyph means you’re getting a whopping 600 of your Spirit value when you Innervate yourself, and a decent small chunk when you Innervate someone else.
Swiftmend not consuming a spell is awesome for obvious reasons and should be mandatory for any Druid healer. =P

That’s how I’m looking at it. My opinions may change when I get there and find out it works like crap. :p-Norellicus – FFXI
Ranawaran – WoWMy glyph choices (for raiding, mind) are:
Innervate
Regrowth (can be replaced if you choose to use Nourish over Regrowth)

Wow. Just…. wow.
Most of you might not know me because I’ve never posted on this side of the alla forums. Although I’ve always loved the druid class, I never really could get one. Leveled one to 37 and it stayed there. Leveled one on another (PvP) server with friends who all quit that server, meaning that toon never got past lvl 37 as well. After leveling a rogue to 70, I had enough of leveling as an energy based class for like, ever, and leveling as boomkin took a lot of drinking without innervate or good gear.
Fast-forward to now and the LFG channel. I’ve leveled my druid exclusively through dungeons and he’s now sitting at 52 and more than holding my attention. Groups now are usually really well geared at the most, and have at least 2 well geared players at the least. They really fly by, and I can’t wait to do strat and other instances I’ve never ever done with a group. I’m already in full blues and one trinket, shoulders, chest, and staff from BoAs, and I’ve found someone with +30SP to weapon on my realm. Glorious!
Yesterday, I make the decision that I really don’t want to tank on him anymore(my main is a warrior tank) and would like to see what treeform has to offer. I re-talent my feral spec into resto, and re-talent my boomkin spec from heals/DPS into as pure a hurricane(just got rank 2 at 50) spec. I throw two talents into the +30 reduction in threat and give it a whirl. I join randoms and am sent into BRD. They have a key, and they’ve gone straight to the big rock boss first and wiped there. I run in, rez, and we are on our way. The tank is a bit overzealous on the pulls, pulling 2 groups at a time usually, and not taking notice to any pats. I hurricane after he’s got good aggro, and hurricane again when its done.
What proceeds is the warlock posting his recount directly after, with me pulling 1k DPS. That’s right, it’s over 900.0!!!! Through the rest of the instance, my DPS is hovering around 700DPS thanks to a good healer and again, that overzealous tank. Aggro was never really an issue.
Afterwards, I joined another group and got thrown in as healer. I asked the tank if he wanted to play “kill my mana”. I never went below 50 and never needed to innervate, even through constant chain pulls.
So right now, I’m happy to say that druids absolutely rock. One more level for trees, one more level after that for typhoon. Druids! goes kitty form Theeeeeeyyyy’re GREAT!-FOR PONY!

Dragonhawks! They aren?? a new discovery, but they are extremely spectacular. In my opinion they are the most beautiful and graceful pets in the entire game.
Family: Dragonhawk
Type: General
HP: Medium (+0) ??Armor: Low (+0) ??DPS: Medium (+0)
Learns: Bite, Cower, Dive, Fire Breath, Growl
Diet: Meat, Fish, Fruit, Raw Meat, Raw Fish
You may have noticed that they don?? get any bonuses. So if someone happens to be a number cruncher then I would advise avoiding this pet. But if you play the game for more than just the numbers, head over to Petopia and take a look at these lovely pets.
-”Too many requests! Slow down!” Yes, thank you, I should take the time to savor the experience of purchasing 37 chicken eggs.
Calabar (50 Hunter) – Farli (27 Minstrel) – Raedan (21 Champion) – Lyndian (23 Guardian) – Bannik (21 have been the standard offensive pet, for good reason.
I looked at Petopia and compared cats to Ravagers:
RAVAGER Family
Type: Offensive
HP: Low (-7) ??Armor: Medium (+5) ??DPS: High (+10)
Learns: Bite, Cower, Dash, Growl, Gore
Diet: Meat, Raw Meat
CAT Family
Type: Offensive
HP: Medium (-2) ??Armor: Low (+0) ??DPS: High (+10)
Learns: Bite, Claw, Cower, Dash, Growl, Prowl
Diet: Fish, Meat
Both have similar DPS it seems, though I read another post that ranks Gore as being the best trainable for DPS, so choice comes down to HP versus Armor.
I have always found lots of HP on a pet to be more useful than lots of armor – though that is also useful and I would prefer both (in an ideal world) – so have no plans on switching from my cat.
That being the case, is there some spectacular new pet in TBC that has been discovered?

Thanks, yeah shortly after posting this it occured to me to look on thottbot. I guess what I failed to realize is that all that gear is for uber level folk. On the plus side, like the third or fourth item down is a big ‘ol gun! I also found a sword and a mace just randomly scrolling pages. Guess it’s academic for about 38 levels Hunter 70

To be honest, I’m confused by your build.
It’s like you tried to mix the perfect raid build with the Beast Mastery tree and ran out of talent points too early.
Focused Fire?
Rapid Killing?
Efficiency?
Improved Concussive Shot?
Go For The Throat?
Ferocity?
Focused Fire is only really worth it if your pet is critting a lot. It affects your Kill Command ability which only works after your pet crits. It also gives you +2 damage which is, laughable, to be honest – especially since your pet needs to be active in order to give you the buff.
Rapid Killing would only benefit you in a PvP situation since you do NOT want to start out with a Rapid Killing crit when you have Mortal Shots. You would pull aggro from your pet before you could blink.
Efficiency gives you a 10 discount on all shots and stings. But why? Why not put them in Improved Arcane Shot to buff up your damage, or, hell, Improved Hunter’s Mark to increase your pet’s damage?
Improved Concussive Shot should not be useful in PvE. If it is then you’re pulling aggro too much and relying too heavily on a chance-to-proc effect. This is a PvP talent if you ask me. And you did. It’s used to annoy the hell out of other players in PvP, nothing more. Stop the Mage from casting something, stop the Rogue from running away, etc.
Go For The Throat gives your pet 50 Focus every time you crit. Okay, here’s the deal: If you crit with that build, you get aggro. If your pet needs 50 extra Focus that badly, you’re doing something wrong. Your pet should have Bite and Growl on, nothing more. It’s not enough to empty the Focus pool. If you enable Claw or Gore, it’ll drain the Focus pool, leaving no Focus for Growl which means you’ll pull aggro like a whore in hell.
Ferocity is a good talent, if you plan on getting Frenzy. With this build, you don’t. And extra 6 critical chance to your pet is useless without Frenzy. Frenzy is the real reason to get Ferocity. Crit upon crit due to increased attack speed. Don’t blow your talent points on this talent when you don’t plan on buffing your pet. You’ll pull aggro with a Rapid Killing autoshot crit anyways.
There, hopefully I didn’t sound too grumpy, but I almost cried when I saw that talent build. You’re all over the place in it. Focus on one tree and then take a second tree depending on what talents you’ve got.
In my opinion, there’s no reason to go Beast Mastery unless you get at least Frenzy. And preferably Spirit Bond and Ferocious Inspiration too.
If you plan on doing a lot of questing and grinding alone, go with a Beast build. If you plan on raiding a lot, go with a build. If you want to PvP, go with either a Beast or build.
I’ll be back once I get some sleep.

Since in BM your pet gets made into a great tank and Ranged Attack Power improves both of you it’s a safe betI am a lvl 66 hunter and recently respec. to BM from MM and was wodering if my current gear which is leaning towards AP and Agility is suitable for BM or should I find gear with different stats altogether. I know Agi. is a given but would say +crit gear go better for a BM build?

Okay, I’m a noob Hunter… Actually, I’m a noob to WoW as well as I’ve only had the game a few days. Love the game, love the class, hate the lack of sleep I’ve gotten over the past couple of days… If I phrase something wrong or say something that doesn’t make sense, then please forgive me. I’ve not gotten the WoW acronyms and jargon down quite yet when it comes to talents, skills and whatnot.
Anyway, I read through the sticky (lots of great info there) and I read through some threads and I think I screwed up. I want to go the Beast Mastery path. I went to the trainer in Dolanaar and bought a few skills (with currency). Problem is, I bought all the ones I could at the time at Lv10 regardless of what category they were under. I did Beast Mastery, Marksmanship and Survival, some went up to rank 2 and such. Can I learn all those skills listed at the Hunter Trainer? Or is there a limit? If there’s a limit, can I sell them back or get rid of them?
Now, I paid with silver and copper pieces with those. I saw some other skills or something where I could use points to buy them. Training Points maybe? I can’t find those anymore.
Also, when I look at my Spellbook, I can see all the skills I bought from the trainer. But when I click on my skills tab in my character profile, it doesn’t say anything about them.
I hope I explained that well enough for someone to understand. I guess I’m just not understanding the difference between skills bought with currency and those bought with points and what can be learned, unlearned and the repercussions for unlearning something.
Thanks to anyone that help me out here.-WoW: Climhazzard – Koral. Server – Night Elf – Lv70 BM Hunter

get a pet

By admin
Categories: Uncategorized Tags:

You don’t feed the pets in your quest, the first three you train.
Your first real pet – to feed: finish the quest by going to the capitol city (where you are sent by the small town trainer – READ the quest).
In the city, right click a guard, ask for the hunter trainer. YOu’ll get a red flag on your map – click M to see it.
That guy finishes your quest.
To feed pet, click on the button – the “dog bone” icon button – then click on appropriate food in your inventory. That’s how I do it. Other ways work too, experiment.
One of your new hunter/pet buttons is on the wrong page – it’s on the GENERAL or first page – not w/ the other pet/beast stuff.
Go to PETOPIA at ot find out what pets eat.
Boars eat almost anything and are very easy to feed.
I highly recommend that you start with a boar. They get CHARGE, which is very nice. They are easy to feed. They are tough, and they hold agro very well (the target stays on them so you can shoot – that is what you do as a hunter).
If you train a pet that comes w/ no skills (always train it GROWL first, this is free – you may need to fight w/ a pet a while to get it’s LOYALTY up – this ups its of tps or trianing points, so you can teach it BITE or CLAW) …
…so if you get a pet w/ no skills, you need to put it in stables (a outside any INN – in xroads in barrens he is behind inn, most are to the right of the door out front).
You buy a slot for 10s or so. In he goes. He’s safe.
Now look up in petopia what animal has the skill you want to learn. Go find one and tame it. Feed it and hunt w/ it w/ that skill ON. You are in essence from that animal, that comes naturlly w/ that skill.
You then get a message – after 20 seconds or 10 minutes, it just depends, in little yellow words in your chat box, that you have learned this skill.
Let the training pet go (abandon) and get main pet from the stables. Teach it the new skill.
GO read read and read more at petopia.

Hunter’s Guide, From A Beast Master’s Perspective, Burning Crusade 2.1.0i get a pet but how can i feed a pet? :S Just remember that it is a two-part quest. The first part they will have you tame 3 zone-specific creatures and then you will be taught how to tame your own permanent pet. However, remember that you need to go to the nearest capital city for the second part to learn how to train and feed your pet. You will want to do that ASAP. If you tame a pet but can’t feed it, it will run away pretty quickly.-No gods, no masters.

Once you complete those, you’ll be able to tame beasts for pet use.
